We start again on

Monday 14th September until  7th December 2009  7.00-9.00pm

 

I wish you all a great summer and remember we still have 4 sessions left! See session dates above. The exiting news is that from September we will be moving to a new studio area at the front of the chapel. This space will be more open - No columns and 6 large opaque windows giving good evening light in early autumn. I plan to still provide refreshments, to include the popular chapel dish of fresh bread and butter, honey and jam etc. as before.

We will also run a painting weekend at the chapel 17th- 18th October so those of you who are interested do get your name on the list with a deposit. We will have 10 places, and work from a set pose for the weekend therefore allowing those of us who want to try oil or acrylic painting an opportunity to work in more depth. I will facilitate and support you in order to keep the costs down, but I would also like to participate. We can plan the pose and select a suitable model nearer the time. I estimate it costing around £25.00 for the weekend and that we all bring food to share.

 

I have also been invited to run 5 sessions; teaching the basic principles of life drawing at Harewood House Leeds on Saturdays 10am -1pm during the autumn; start date to be confirmed. I am also looking for art work from people to display in the brassiere at Greens Health and Fitness, Calder Island Way, Denby Dale Road, Wakefield. Anyone wishing to exhibit about six examples of their framed work please let me know and we can arrange to select a suitable body of artwork. Currently showing is a lovely series of linear life drawings by Sandra Cowper until July 09, and from July till September we have artist Jan Parsons displaying a selection of her large scale bold  life drawings.  Do call in, you don’t have to be a member and we would welcome your feedback.

 

I enclose with this letter a WLDG poster and would appreciate it if you could display it somewhere appropriate or at least spread the word.
